PROFESSIONAL RISKS PACKAGE

REIS has developed and implemented a full Professional Risk Liability Package designed specifically for the real estate industry and the impact of the Real Estate Agents Act 2008. The policy extends to cover the following:

  • Professional Indemnity – provides members of REINZ protection from third party claims (including any legal proceedings instituted and served, but also any threat or intimation that legal proceedings will be issued). This includes any legal, disbursements, witness costs, assessors costs or experts costs incurred in investigating, defending or settling any claim, and provides indemnification for any subsequent settlement, damages, or compensation that may be ordered or awarded (including compensation) under Real Estate Agents Act 2008.

  • Public Liability – provides protection against third party claims for compensation in respect of personal injury or property damage for which you are legally liable.

  • Statutory Liability – provides protection for penalties, fines and legal defence costs associated with alleged unintentional breach or contravention of most Acts, including Real Estate Agents Act 2008, Fair Trading Act and Consumer Guarantees Act.

  • Employers Liability – provides protection for settlements or damages payable in respect of claims for personal injury to employees suffered in the course of their employment that are not covered by ACC.

  • Director & Officers Liability – covers directors and senior management for wrongful acts committed whilst carrying out their duties associated with the management of the company.

  • Fidelity – covers the insured for loss of money or property belonging to the insured through a dishonest or fraudulent act amounting to a criminal offence.

  • Legal Defence – The policy covers personal liability of an individual which arises whilst engaged in the performances of their work duties.

COMMERCIAL MOTOR


Real Estate Insurance Services have a very comprehensive and competitive Commercial Motor Insurance scheme which is available to all Real Estate agents/salespersons.

Our Commercial Motor Scheme is underwritten by one of
New Zealand’s most well known and trusted insurance brands, providing members with a very sound and stable insurance market.

Apart from competitive premiums, the full Comprehensive cover provided is extremely broad. These are some of the policy extensions available to Real Estate Agents on a Full Commercial Motor Vehicle Cover:

  • Loss of Use Extension - You are insured for the reasonable costs you incur to hire a substitute similar vehicle following a loss or damage.  For a maximum of 28 Days at $60 per day with an excess of 7 days. Other policies do offer this cover but usually not as an automatic extension, you are usually charged extra for this.    

  • Breakage of Windscreen – Nil Excess

  • Rental Vehicle Extension - Liability for Rental Vehicles with a $50,000 limit and a third Party Limit
    of $1,000,000.

  • Third Party Limit - $10,000,000

  • Additions and Deletions of vehicle
